​We are grateful for your participation and generous feedback! 


We hope your Winter was deeply nourishing and thoughtful, and that with the approaching Spring,

    BONE BROTH FLAVOR OF THE WEEK
    Lemon is very therapeutic for those who have eaten a high fat/protein diet. Its antiseptic, antimicrobial and mucous resolving action make it perfect for colds, flu and hacking coughs. It also increases the production of fluids in the body. Parsley is high in vitamin C and antioxidants. Garlic has potent medicinal properties that have been used for centuries for Its antibacterial and antiviral effects in the immune system as well as for lowering cholesterol and disease prevention. Bone broth in itself is exceptionally healing. It is rich in minerals, protein and collagen. There is a reason why every culture on the planet has its own version. Try replacing a daily cup of broth instead of coffee for a nourishing start to your day.
    NOURISHING VEGAN BROTH 
    Shiitake is beneficial to the stomach and to the immune system as it decreases both fat and cholesterol in the blood and helps the cleanse excesses from too much animal protein. Combined with kombu this gorgeous broth is moistening and cleansing. It's best to avoid kelp and seaweeds during pregnancy.

    Lamb is warming and sweet to increase energy and improve blood production an is especially helpful for those who tend towards general weakness. Root vegetables are strengthening for all and potatoes harmonize the stomach, moisten the intestines and neutralizes acidic conditions.
    Chicken builds Qi and nourishes Blood of the whole body as it supports the digestive system which is why it is suited for those with weakness and in the colder months. Thyme is antibacterial and rich in vitamin C and antioxidants. Mushrooms promote appetite, cleanse mucous in the respiratory system, decrease excess heat and fat levels in the blood. A range of mushrooms bolsters immunity in many ways

    Catfish is high in protein including B12 as well as healthy omega fatty acids and promotes body fluid distribution. Capers promote fluids. Baking strengthens Qi while lemon and parsley move Qi and Blood making this delicious dish at once nourishing and cleansing.
    With more than fifty varieties of lentils grown all over the world, these little powerhouses of fiber and minerals are beneficial to the heart and circulation and deeply increases vitality of the kidneys. Mushrooms promote appetite, cleanse mucous in the respiratory system, decrease excess heat and fat levels in the blood. A range of mushrooms bolsters immunity in many ways. Potatoes harmonize the stomach, moisten the intestines and neutralizes acidic conditions.

    Thyme is not only delicious but packed with vitamin C, highly antibacterial and promotes a healthy digestive system.
    Green beans regulate Qi and strengthen the Spleen and Kidneys while nourishing fluids. Shallots help to cleanse mucous from the digestive system.

    Carrots are full of beta carotene, vitamins and minerals to benefit the lungs and pancreas, improve liver function and stimulate elimination. Carrots also help to clear heat and acidic conditions in the blood which improves skin conditions. Dill is packed with bioflavinoids and helps to decrease inflammatory conditions and soothes digestion.
    Brassica vegetables (cauliflower, turnip, kale, broccoli, brussels sprouts contain antioxidant and anticancer compounds well as sulfur which has antibiotic and antiviral characteristics. Olive oil is monounsaturated, which contributes to its ability to decrease inflammation and plaques along with its abundant antioxidants and vitamin K. It is also nourishing to the blood and skin.     This is a wonderful detoxifying salad that has it all! These baby greens are rich in vitamin K, A, C, beta carotenes and lutein as well as fiber. Beets strengthen the heart, calm the spirit, improve circulation while purifying the blood and moistening the intestines. Wheat berries are packed with nutrients and high in protein and fiber. A symbol of longevity, courage and strength, fennel belongs to the parsley family and contains flavonoids including quercitin which strengthens its carminative properties to help with gas and bloating. Sunflower seeds boost energy and sprouts stimulate the liver.
    Enjoy this homage to Caesar Salad! Lettuces contain high amounts of silicon necessary for bone health is also high in water to aid detoxification while also nourishing fluids. High in fiber, sweet and slightly bitter baby kale benefits the stomach and eases lung congestion. It is loaded with chlorophyl, calcium, iron and vitamin A. Created for those with calcium deficiency, Furikake is classically made with toasted sesame seeds, nori, salt and sugar. Crispy chickpeas give a satisfying crunch. Cashews contain a relatively high amount of magnesium which supports bone health. Miso is an alkalizing fermented food beneficial to a healthy gut microbiome. For those with congestive mucous conditions including candida, enjoy miso sparingly and choose lightly steamed rather than raw food. Raw foods, especially in winter, are generally best suited to those with excess heat conditions.

    Watercress influences the lungs, stomach, bladder and kidneys to regulate and strengthen digestion, purify and build blood benefit the skin and vision. Kale adds prebiotic qualities to the probiotics in the miso ginger dressing. Radishes helps to cleanse the system of mucous. Alkaline forming carrots are rich in carotenes and benefit the lungs, pancreas and liver as well as stimulating elimination. The enzymes in sprouts help to move the liver out of stagnancy. Crunchy and delicious seeds are wonderful sources of zinc and omega 3 fatty acids necessary for healing. Pumpkin aids digestion, sunflower seeds boost energy, pine nuts benefit the lungs.
    Gluten free and high in protein, Quinoa is strengthening for the whole body. Quinoa has more calcium than milk and is higher in fat than other grains as well as being a good source of iron, phosphorus, B vitamins and vitamin E making this an important grain for vegetarians. Tomato not only contains lycopene and vitamin C but builds fluids and detoxifies the body while encouraging digestion. Cucumber is cooling, builds fluids to moisten the lungs and purify the skin and heal inflammatory conditions. Parsley and mint are rich in Vitamin C, calcium and antioxidants to relieve digestive discomfort.

    Cauliflower is one of the brassica vegetables which have been recommended for cancer prevention due to the abundance of compounds rich in antioxidants and indoles which are protective against breast and colon cancer, and sulfur which has antibacterial and anti-viral properties. Arugula brings a good dose of blood building antioxidants while the mellow roasted garlic provides warming antiviral benefits. What's not to love?
    Miso is an alkalizing fermented food beneficial to a healthy gut microbiome.Tofu contains easily digested protein, B vitamins and minerals. Chlorophyll rich greens build blood. Alkaline forming carrots are high in carotenes to benefit the lungs, pancreas and liver as well as stimulating elimination.Ginger increases digestive and cardiovascular health.

    White beans help to clear heat in the lungs, offer an abundance of fiber, protein and folate, all which help to regulate metabolism, and promote development and growth of the body, brain and reproductive energy. Pesto and lemon increase the cleansing properties of this delicious soup!

    Packed with omega three fatty acids and B vitamins, trout and cod are a deeply nourishing lean source of protein. Lemon, capers and herbs brighten and cleanse leaving you feeling nourished and satisfied.

    Kimchi contains probiotics vitally important for gut health which contributes to our overall immune and brain health in addition to helping lower cholesterol. Napa cabbage and radish cleanse mucus and phlegm and stimulate the intestines.
    A small serving of pickles after meals aids in digestion, promotes better nutrient absorption and enhance the microbiome of the gut. Horseradish moves Qi and fluids and is particularly beneficial for phlegm conditions.

    These tasty little energy balls are indispensable for long hikes or on days when you need a little extra boost. They are packed with protein, essential fatty acids, healthy carbohydrates and just enough sugar to delight and satisfy! The coffee and chiles make them a little feisty to put a little spring back in your step! You can do it!

    These oats pack a punch with loads of fiber, protein, vitamins, antioxidants, probiotics, and omega fatty acids. What more can you ask for in the morning?
    Rice porridge or congee is the go to especially when there is a need to gently strengthen energy. The addition of fig, walnut, cardamom and almond milk strengthens all the organs. Enjoy!
